Pre-Employment Testing
The process of pre-employment testing includes inviting applicants to complete various types of assessments during the hiring process, but before a candidate begins work for an organization. Such tools can include behavioral and cognitive assessments, job skills tests to evaluate performance, pre-screening to prevent theft and workplace accidents, personality indicators, and custom assessments designed to identify an individual’s potential compatibility with a specific position.
Human resources professionals and hiring managers use validated, job-relevant pre-employment testing to gain a more complete picture of a candidate’s qualification for a job opening and/or the likelihood of whether that candidate may potentially be well-suited to thrive in an organization’s culture. While employee assessments should never be the dominant factor influencing an employment decision, they can be used as a portion of the decision and are effective for pinpointing specific areas that should be explored further with an applicant.
