Recruiting Process
An organization uses the recruiting process to source candidates for potential employment in open positions. Activities include developing a recruiting target (i.e. desired applicant experience, education and/or skills); posting job descriptions to third party job boards, employment agencies and social networking sites; as well as, corporate recruiters and/or staffing agencies proactively reaching out to passive candidates to generate and solicit interest in candidates for certain available job openings.
Later stage recruitment activities can include the employment application process, interviewing candidates, reference checking, and the employment offer step. Because so many different variables can be involved in the recruiting process, using a web-based applicant tracking system can dramatically reduce time spent on administrative tasks by recruiters so that they can focus more energy on engaging quality candidates and assessing their potential job fit.
